With reference to previous correspondence ending
with your letter 13610/1913 of April 25th last, res-
pecting the case of Vicente Sotto whose extradition had
been applied for by the United States Consular officer
in Hongkong, I am directed by Secretary Sir E.Grey to
transmit to you herewith, to be laid before the Secret-
ary of State for the Colonies, a copy of a note from the
United States Ambassador stating that Sotto has now been
released on the ground of res judicata.
Sir E.Grey desires me to request that you will
move Mr.Secretary Harcourt to invite the Governor of
Hongkong to furnish a report for communication to Mr.
Page explaining the circumstances of Sotto's alleged
release.
